Curious about 3D printing itself?

Most of this site is about turning your idea into something real. This page is different — it's for people who want to understand 3D printing itself: how it works, how I learned it, and whether it's worth buying a printer of your own.

Where this comes from

A handful of people have asked me the same questions after we talked through a project: how did you get into this? What printer should I buy? How does the actual science work? This page exists because those conversations kept happening — and I genuinely like having them.

What I can help with

  • How 3D printing actually works — the short, non-technical version
  • How I taught myself, and what I'd do differently starting over
  • Choosing a first printer without overspending or under-buying
  • Filament types, settings, and why prints fail
  • Whether a home 3D printer is actually worth it for your situation

Proof I go deep on this

I also built PrintPerfect, my own print-settings and filament management tool — not something you build without going pretty deep into the technical side yourself.
